The philosophy of OM Movement is ‘Consciousness In Motion.’ Our 200hr. TT reflects this philosophy as we offer a curriculum based on comprehensive immersion in the traditional Vinyasa Yoga lineage with emphasis on seeing Yoga as an evolving science by recognizing the uniqueness of our individual journeys of consciousness and movement.
Our training will certify teachers that demonstrate awareness of yogic philosophy based on The Eight Limbs of the Yoga Sutras. The training will also give you an additional layer of instruction by introducing you to other forms of yoga and movement modalities. You will graduate with the understanding that like the ever-changing nature of our bodies and minds, we must approach each person as an individual with their own unique physiology and consciousness. Ultimately OM Movement’s goal in our 200hr. TT is to foster a humble, open-minded, awareness of movement and unity consciousness through yogic philosophy and kinesthetic awareness.
The desire to teach comes from a personal understanding of the healing power of yoga; sharing and teaching become a natural expression of living in a Yogic way. But first and foremost you must embark on this journey for yourself.
You don’t need extensive yoga experience and even if your intention is just to deepen your practice, this training is for you. You will graduate from our teacher training thoroughly educated in the intricate practice of healing and uplifting bodies and souls through yoga and movement.

Overview of the Curriculum
Techniques Training and Practice
-The Asanas will be understood in depth including, proper alignment as well as the benefits and contraindications of each posture.
-Creating power and flow in your practice through understanding the Sun Salutations, the five categories of poses, fluid transitions between poses and intelligent sequencing.
-Pranayama: breath as the vehicle for transformation – you will learn different breathing techniques, their benefits and the five major pranas.
-Meditation: the power of stillness – through a commitment to a daily meditation practice, you will learn techniques to still the mind. Instruction will be given and applied on how to use Yoga Nidra, visualization, mantras, mudras and other tools for concentration and contemplation.
-Power, stamina and lightness through Bandha control and the practice of Kriyas.
-Sanskrit terminology for postures and mantra.
-You will be exposed to different forms of yoga and complimentary movement modalities and enjoy workshops taught by experts in those styles including: The Fluidus Method, Ashtanga, Dharma Yoga, Prenatal, Restorative, Partner and Acro-Yoga, free movement and practical strength training.
You will learn how to structure a Vinyasa Yoga class, including creating a fluid class sequence, modifications based on student’s needs, assisting and adjusting asana and how to effectively cue and communicate to students.
Intention, integrity and creating a learning environment which fosters inclusion and trust. The business of yoga will be discussed on a practical and comprehensive level.
Anatomy and Physiology
-You will learn the major muscles, bones, organs and systems of the body and how they interact. This knowledge will be applied to the postures and the practice. This anatomical awareness will also be applied intelligently in dealing with and modifying for injuries, injury prevention and different body types.
-You will learn about the energetic and subtle bodies, the chakra system, nadis, the flow of energy/prana.
Yoga Philosophy Ethics and Lifestyle
-You will use the Yoga Sutras, the paths of yoga and the eight limbs, among other spiritual and philosophical texts in order to deepen your own personal knowledge of yourself and those around you.
-You will discuss what it means to be a yoga teacher and understand the importance of teaching from the heart in a space of compassion and humility instead of from the ego.
-You will explore what it means to live a yogic life. Creating your own personal practice to maintain awareness, connection and balance.
-You will explore the history of yoga and how this evolving science has become what it is today.
You will observe experienced teachers in order to understand the dynamics, awareness and sensitivity needed to teach a transformative yoga class. You will practice assisting and adjusting while supporting another teacher. There will be many practice teaching opportunities that will lead up to guiding your own community classes.
The following topics will be taught by accomplished and qualified educators: Acro-Yoga, Ashtanga, Dharma Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Fluidus, free movement, practical strength training, anatomy, The Science behind why movement can expand consciousness.
You will also receive training and be certified in CPR and First Aid.
